Carlos Machado is a highly experienced professional in the oil and gas sector, with 16 years of hands-on expertise across both deepwater and onshore operations. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Carlos serves on the management team of Verdad Exploration Mexico, LLC, where he leads the company’s strategic direction and oversees day-to-day operations with a strong focus on efficiency, innovation, and value creation. Verdad’s assets lie directly south of the Rio Grande River, a literal stone’s throw from Jericho’s operations. His career highlights include deepwater oil and gas projects in the Gulf of Mexico with Marathon Oil Company, as well as extensive onshore experience with Schlumberger and Magna Operating, a private, highly efficient independent operator. Carlos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (2011). Based in Houston, he balances the demands of the energy industry with a strong commitment to family life.

Tom Fitzsimmons is a long-time oil and gas veteran whose most recent activity led him to manage minerals for several family offices, including his own. He started his career in 1982, working the frontlines in northern Canada’s oil and gas service industry. Tom graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Wyoming. He started his engineering career in West Texas after graduation, working at the legendary Yates Field. In the following 30 years, he moved eight times but spent most of his time back in Wyoming, joining forces with James Nielson, former President and CEO of Husky Oil. Jim and Tom completed numerous transactions, culminating in forming Iron Creek Energy, Nielson Energy Group, Nielson Royalties, and Enerquip, LLC. From an engineering background, Tom has built his expertise in valuations, mergers, acquisitions, investment, operations, and consultation. Tom served as Commissioner of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Commission, Chairman of the Wyoming Enhanced Oil Recovery Commission, and Chairman of the Northern Rockies Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. He is registered as a Professional Petroleum Engineer in Wyoming and Montana.
