Carlos Machado brings something rare to a small independent operator: major company training, lean independent execution, and cross-border basin knowledge that directly extends Jericho's operational reach. Carlos began his career at Schlumberger, where he developed a foundation in reservoir analysis, well diagnostics, and production optimization across diverse formation types. He then moved to Marathon Oil Company, where he worked deepwater oil and gas projects in the Gulf of Mexico — an environment that demands precision engineering, rigorous cost discipline, and zero margin for operational error. Those standards don't leave you when you move onshore. They become the baseline.
From major company operations, Carlos transitioned to Magna Operating — a private, highly efficient independent known for doing more with less. There he developed the lean operating instincts that translate directly to Jericho's acquisition strategy: identify underperforming assets, reduce unnecessary costs without sacrificing production integrity, and extract value that larger operators couldn't justify pursuing. Carlos also serves on the management team of Verdad Exploration Mexico, LLC, leading strategy and day-to-day operations for assets located directly south of the Rio Grande — a literal stone's throw from Jericho's South Texas operations. That proximity is not a coincidence. The same stacked Tertiary formations that Jericho targets on the U.S. side continue across the border, and Carlos's cross-border relationships, bilingual fluency, and regional geology knowledge give Jericho a competitive awareness few operators in the area can match. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is based in Houston, where he balances the demands of a growing operating company with a strong commitment to his family. At Jericho, Carlos is the operational engine — the partner who knows what it costs to run a well correctly, what it looks like when it's being run poorly, and exactly what needs to change to close that gap.

Tom Fitzsimmons has spent over four decades doing the hard work of the oil and gas business — from the wellsite to the boardroom. He began his career in 1982 working the frontlines of Canada's oil field service industry, earned his engineering degree from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Wyoming. His first assignment out of school was the legendary Yates Field in West Texas — one of the largest conventional oil fields in U.S. history and a formative environment for any engineer serious about reservoir management and long-life production. Over the next 30 years, Tom built a career defined by transactions, operations, and value creation across the Rocky Mountain region. He partnered with James Nielson — former President and CEO of Husky Oil — to complete numerous acquisitions and divestitures, ultimately forming Iron Creek Energy, Nielson Energy Group, Nielson Royalties, and Enerquip, LLC. These weren't passive investments. Tom operated the assets, managed the liabilities, and made the day-to-day decisions that determined whether a deal succeeded. Most recently, Tom managed oil and gas mineral and royalty portfolios for multiple family offices, including his own — giving him direct experience as a non-operating interest owner and a clear understanding of what landowners, royalty holders, and passive working interest partners need from their operator: transparency, accountability, and consistent cash flow. Tom's technical credentials are backed by public service. He served as Commissioner of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Chairman of the Wyoming Enhanced Oil Recovery Commission, and Chairman of the Northern Rockies Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. He is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer in Wyoming and Montana. At Jericho, Tom brings the full stack — engineering rigor, acquisition and divestiture experience, regulatory expertise, and an owner's mentality. He has been on every side of the table: operator, investor, royalty owner, and regulator. That perspective is what makes Jericho a different kind of operating partner.
